The Kinshasa Structure Count was undertaken for the World Bank as part of the Global WASH Poverty Diagnostic; a global initiative led by the multi-donor trust funded Water and Sanitation Program (WSP). As part of the global effort, a WASH Poverty Diagnostic was implemented for Kinshasa, Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC).
With the last full census in Kinshasa having taken place in 1984, the structure count provides an updated estimation of household numbers and location for 2014.
Using high resolution imagery, the structure count distinguishes between dwelling, non-dwelling and high density structures in various Kinshasa communes.
